You know that sickening feeling from spending valuable time Googling garden tips only to close your browser more confused than when you started? Me too. It’s not fun.
Long before my first child was born, I knew I wanted my little ones to understand where good, nutrient-dense food originates, and its impact on their bodies and communities. I wanted them to grow up snacking on delicious food picked from their own back porch, to experience a connection with the natural world whilst being raised in a digital one.
But I was no gardener.
I had a perfect record of killing every plant that had the misfortune of coming into my care. Although I was enamored by the idea of gardening, I lacked the time and know-how to convert my dream into a life skill I could pass to my children.
Motherhood transformed my previously absent motivation into determined focus. I dove into books, blogs, and YouTube; spending hours absorbing all the gardening information I could find. The following spring I swallowed my fear of failure, purchased my first plants, and started implementing all of my hours of research. Guess what…plants still died.
But you know something? Most of them lived. There was no longer a perfect record of defeat. Most would-be gardeners never make it off the starting block because they lack practical gardening experience and the time necessary to learn a new skill set. At Growing The Gardener, we provide ready-made resources and education to shave years off the learning curve so you can fast-track your gardening goals, no previous experience required.
So consider me your gardening advocate! You have goals? Let’s make them happen. Passionate about connecting children to sustainable and nutrient-dense food? Me too. Ready to get started? I thought you’d never ask!
